He was German marine and portrait painter who began his painting studies at the School of Art in Wroctaw then continued his education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. He lived and worked in Hamburg.
In some of the areas due to age and where the board is fully exposed as there is no frame covering the edges the paint has flaked from the board as indicated in the photos.
