This original Thonet fireplace chair, model no. 51 comes from Gallery 2 and is an impressive example of Thonet's masterful design and craftsmanship from the early 20th century. The armchair, which can be found in the Thonet catalog from 1904.
The makers mark is on the base of the seat frame.
The chair has normal wear for something of this age and use. The seat and back have cane webbing, the seat has been recently replaced.
